Many retail business owners and managers are faced at some point with the need to decide whether or not they should outsource their order fulfillment service requirements to a company that specializes in that area. This represents a major decision for these companies because order fulfillment could be the difference between a failing and a successful company. This means that in making the decision, you need to determine whether outsourcing this service will benefit you in any way and if so is it sufficient enough to justify outsourcing. For example, will outsourcing help you to grow? Will it help to cut costs? Will it free up resources that could best be redirected into production? These are some of the questions that should be answered in order to make an informed decision about outsourcing order fulfillment.

Possible Reasons to Outsource

There are a number of reasons why businesses may decide to outsource their order fulfillment service. One reason is the issue of visibility. It is of critical important to have systems in place to track the different costs associated with providing a fulfillment service as well as to keep abreast of inventory supply and demand. If you are finding it difficult to keep up with the different demands of operating your own order fulfillment service then it may be time to outsource.

Another possible reason for outsourcing order fulfillment is cost reduction. Order fulfillment operations can cost quite a hefty sum to a business of any size, so merchants sometimes opt to outsource these needs to another company that specializes in this area. Order fulfillment companies often benefit from discounts and preferred rates they get from shipping companies and are sometimes able to pass these lower costs on to their clients. On the other hand the retailer will no longer have to pay for staff, utilities and other resources needed to carry out order fulfillment services.

While this list is not exhaustive it does represent a few of the reasons business sometimes choose to outsource their order fulfillment needs to a third party company.

How Are Antibodies Manufactured?

Antibody production is very important in the treatment of different viruses and bacteria. The antibodies are the Y-shaped cells that help the immune system identify and destroy the bacteria and viruses invading the body. These antibodies can be produced in a variety of ways, like monoclonal antibody production. The general steps to antibody production are outlined below.

  1. Antigens are injected into a mammal. The most common mammals used are mice, rats, goats, rabbits, and sheep. In some cases horse are used for the large amount of antibodies they can produce. Chickens can be used as well, but the antibodies get deposited into the yolks of their eggs.
  2. Blood is then taken from the animal. The blood will contain multiple antibodies that will bind with the same antigen, which are called polyclonal antibodies. Certain lymphocytes are also isolated from the blood and are used to create special kinds of antibodies that bind to specific areas of the antigen.
  3. The lymphocytes from the blood are then fused to a type of cancer cells. These hybrid cells are called hybridomas. They will keep growing and secreting antibodies that can be used to treat bacteria and viruses. All of this process occurs in a small culture inside of a petri dish in a research laboratory.
  4. Sometimes the fused cells are then cloned, which then produce monoclonal antibodies. The researchers will take single hybridoma cells and clone them. These clones will produce just one single type of antibody.
  5. The different types of antibodies will then be purified. This process can be done using Protein A/G or antigen-affinity chromatography. Protein A/G purifies the antibodies by binding to different receptors inside of it. Affinity chromatography uses a molecule similar to sugar to bind to the antibody and exploit certain properties of it. Once purified, the antibodies can be used in medical applications.

Throwing Great Super Sweet Sixteens Parties

MTV made the popularity of Super Sweet Sixteens parties go
to the extreme.  On their television
show, kids were shown throwing these lavish and extremely birthday parties for
when they turned 16 years old.  The
parties varied in theme but almost always seemed to include a new vehicle being
given to the 16 year old at the end of the birthday party. 

While many people are not in the financial position to throw
one of these elaborate teenage birthday parties, they can still
throw a great part for a teenager that is turning 16.  Hiring a party planner is the easiest way to
throw a great birthday party and to make sure it sticks to a set budget.  A party planner will pick the appropriate
food, plan the music and go with the theme selected by the individual and do it
all within the selected budget given. 
This takes a lot of the worry out of throwing a great Super Sweet Sixteens birthday party.

Another option is to throw a teenage party
without the help of anyone else.  A
birthday party doesn’t have to include hundreds of people to make it a great
party.  The first thing that should be
considered is the likes and dislikes of the birthday boy or girl.  Some teenagers would prefer just inviting
their closest friends and going to a movie and out to eat together.  Other teenagers might prefer going to a
baseball game, going go-kart riding, playing miniature golf, or a number of
different activities.  Making the food
for a birthday party can save a lot of money and can be customized to the needs
of the teenager.  Not every 16 year old
needs to be given a car to make it a good birthday party for them, but a
present that suits them would be nice to include to make it a great day.
